Civil Society & Inclusive Peace: A Reality Check

There is increasing global policy and research momentum on the topic of inclusive peace. But is this momentum reflected in practice? Is it reflecting practice? The reality for civil society actors is that the political space is shrinking globally, severely limiting their ability to contribute to inclusive peace. At the same time, comparative research challenges civil society actors to adapt to changing circumstances, consider their collective impact, and question their own assumptions.The time has come for a reality check. The Inclusive Peace & Transition Initiative (IPTI), Peace Direct, and the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) are joining forces to host an online consultation bringing together civil society practitioners and researchers to discuss challenges, strategies, and options for civil society to contribute to inclusive peacebuilding.

The consultation will take place online over 3 days from 27 February - 1 March 2018 to kick off a year-long learning exchange as part of IPTI's Impact Local Peace project. If you are interested in taking part, please register your interest before 19 February.
