we are looking together with our partner organisation Spirit in Education Movement for
an International Peace Worker (f/m/d) in Bangkok, Thailand
These are your tasks
As an integrated International Peace Worker you will support our partner organization in strengthening the resilience of communities in Myanmar with a focus on psychosocial support, and contribute to project management and coordination. You will be based in Bangkok with occasional travels in the country.
- You integrate yourself into the team of the partner organisation and contribute to strategizing, designing and implementing a multi-layered project aiming at holistic conflict transformation.
- You contribute to the development of context-sensitive approaches and methodologies to psychosocial support for individuals and groups exposed to violent conflict.
- You closely collaborate with your team in impact-oriented planning and monitoring as well as project management and coordination, including organizing workshops and trainings.
- You will ensure the proper use of funds and reporting as well as regular communication with the CPS country coordination and the KURVE Wustrow main office.
Skills you have
- A relevant university degree (e.g. in peace and conflict studies, social sciences or education) or a completed training in conflict transformation with several years of professional experience.
- Several years of practical experience in working with NGOs, preferably in intercultural teams and/or abroad.
- Relevant further training in the field of civil, non-violent conflict transformation and sound knowledge in this area.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with conflict, which can be used respectfully and sensitively in an intercultural context.
- The ability to self-reflect and a high degree of learning and adaptability.
- Personal responsibility, strong planning and implementation skills, the ability to deal with complex situations and tolerance towards unclear situations.
- Bringing an attitude of open-mindedness, willingness to learn and the commitment to contextualize professional skills.
- Experience working with marginalized and minority groups, ideally in civil war or violent contexts.
- Very good English language skills and willingness to learn Burmese.

- Participation in qualification and further training measures, regular supervision and, if necessary, participation in a corresponding language course
- Many opportunities to work independently, a high degree of creative freedom in your daily work and cooperation at eye level
- A full-time contract in accordance with the Development Workers Act (for EU citizens only) or a contract in alignment with the German law for development aid workers for citizens from other countries until 31.12.2027 (under the condition that the project will be prolonged by the BMZ after the end of 2026). Please note: The conditions of the German law for development aid workers precludes the application and deployment of citizens of the deployment countries.

- An extensive preparation period in Germany, usually three to four months, starting on 01.02.2025.
