First Call for Papers for the 21st Annual Conference of the German Peace Psychology Association: 'Group-based aggression and violence', to be held on June 6-8, 2008 at the Department of Psychology, University of Marburg (Germany)
Violence and aggression is one central topic of Peace Psychology. The aim of this conference is to highlight special forms of violence and aggression like war, gang violence, hooliganism, terrorism or ethnic violence, which are rooted in group-processes. Aggression between individuals is a form of group-based violence if this behaviour is based on and motivated by the opponents? membership in different groups. With this topic we will intensify the discussion about group-dynamics underlying aggression and violence.
We would like to invite you to the 21st Annual Conference of the German Peace Psychology Association and to submit empirical and theoretical papers from all fields of psychology, sociology, political science and other social sciences, which contribute to the field of group-based aggression and violence. Conference languages are German and English. Thus, papers can be submitted in both languages. Submitted papers will be screened with regard to their general appropriateness and grouped with related papers into thematic sessions.
All presenters are asked to submit their papers electronically to Jost Stellmacher: eMail: stellmac@staff.uni-marburg.de. The submission deadline is
April 15, 2008. Please add the names of the authors, address of responsible person, title of presentation and a short abstract (max. 250 words). We will confirm your registration electronically.
