Peace One Day - Initiative

Today marks 6 weeks until the observation of the United Nation\'s International Day of Peace (IDP), to be observed globally on Thursday, September 21st. Each year more and more individuals, groups, communities and countries throughout the world are recognizing the significance of committing to One Day of Peace through prayer, meditation and other forms of spiritual observation.

As an organization deeply dedicated to Peace, the International Day of Peace offers you a unique opportunity to encourage your membership and other peace-minded individuals and groups to observe the day in a spiritual, reflective manner. The aim of the IDP is to accomplish ceasefires and to stop violence the world over for ONE DAY OF PEACE. We again ask you to remind your membership about the IDP (September 21st) and to post a link to www.idpvigil.com on your website. This is a global effort, so we also ask that you encourage participating groups and individuals to post their commitments on: http://www.idpvigil.com/commitments/addForm.php Commitments are listed by geographical location so that others can know and participate in local Vigils but also that they can see the global magnitude of the IDP effort.
