25 Years of Women, Peace and Security: Between Promises, Backlash, and Feminist Reimagining
The year 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), a landmark in acknowledging the critical role of gender in building sustainable peace. As one of the most prominent frameworks for advancing gender equality in peace and security efforts, the WPS Agenda emphasizes the three Ps – prevention, protection, and participation – while also addressing post-conflict recovery, humanitarian response, and transitional justice.
