"A Growing Gap: EU Peace and Security Funding Beyond Ukraine"
In their policy brief for the Global Public Policy Institute, Abi Watson and Julia Friedrich highlight the rigidity of the EU's spending on peace and security-related programs, which limits its ability to respond swiftly to emerging crises. The few flexible funds available are already nearly exhausted. This financial inflexibility creates a funding deficit for many conflict-affected countries, which will only worsen unless the EU adjusts its current approach.
