Still struggling to give “P” a chance? Options for integrating the peace pillar into the triple nexus
The Berghof Foundation argues that truly integrated Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) programming must go beyond siloed approaches by meaningfully incorporating both “small p” (e.g. conflict sensitivity, social cohesion) and “Big P” (e.g. political peace processes, mediation) into project design and implementation. Drawing from field experience, they highlight the value of localised analysis, strategic partnerships, and meso-level interventions as key to embedding peace more effectively into nexus work and achieving long-term impact in fragile contexts.
