Ukrainian Nonviolent Civil Resistance in the Face of War

Since March 2022, the International Institute for Nonviolent Action (Novact), the Catalan Institute for Peace (ICIP) and the NGO Corridors - Dialogue through Cooperation, have been collecting stories of civil resistance in Ukraine. The report “Ukrainian Nonviolent Civil Resistance in the Face of War” analysis the trends, impacts and challenges of nonviolent in Ukraine during the period of 24^th February until June 30^th.

Additionality, in cooperation with some students from the National University Kyiv-Mohyla, they have identified and systematized 235 nonviolent actions during this period, you can find detailed information of this process in this Map - English version.

The aim of this research project is to understand the dynamics of nonviolent action, but overall to visualize the outstanding struggle of Ukrainian activists and civil society organizations and capitalize on this experience for other war situations.
