"Unveiling Challenges and Gaps in Climate Finance in Conflict Areas"
This SIPRI Insights paper examines the unequal distribution of climate finance, showing that conflict-affected countries, despite heightened vulnerability, receive disproportionately low per capita climate adaptation aid compared to similar non-conflict-affected nations. Covering ODA flows from 2015–2021, the paper reveals large funding disparities and emphasizes the need for increased transparency, equitable fund allocation, and better donor-recipient coordination to ensure climate finance reaches those most in need in conflict areas.
