Europes defense in debate

In the wake of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, a „Zeitenwende“ has taken place not only in Germany but across Europe. Although countries differ in priorities and starting points, all European states have begun reforming their security policies. Amid growing estrangement from the US under the Trump administration, discussions of a ‚Zeitenwende 2.0‘ have intensified, suggesting that the era of the US as Europe’s primary security guarantor may be coming to a definitive end and that Europe must urgently be prepared to defend itself independently.
