Time to decolonise peacebuilding

EPLO Brown Bag Lunch Event

One year ago, Peace Direct, in collaboration with Adeso, the Alliance for Peacebuilding, and Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security, published a report on ‘Time to Decolonise Aid‘, which examined structural racism in the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors.

Building upon these findings, Peace Direct recently published a second report focusing on ‘Race, Power and Peacebuilding‘. Produced in collaboration with the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC), International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN) and United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY), this new report presents the findings and recommendations of a global online consultation with over 160 practitioners, academics and activists from 70 countries.

In this EPLO Brown Bag Lunch discussion, Dylan Mathews, CEO of Peace Direct, and Shannon Paige, Policy Associate at Peace Direct and lead author of the two reports, will present the reports’ main highlights and discuss their possible implications for civil society organisations as well as for international donors and policy-makers such as the European Union.
