confronting HIERACHIES: A podcast on (de)coloniality, peace and conflict

Peace and conflict studies is a burgeoning field. Yet, it still needs to tackle the legacies of colonialism and its hierarchies; the historical trajectories of conflicts and their embeddedness in global entanglements. In the six episodes of the podcast, we question dominant narratives in dialogue with a diversity of voices within and beyond academia and critically engage with theories and research practices. Join us in our journey of confronting hierarchies.

The guests of the first episode are Manuela Boatcă, Professor of Sociology and Head of School of the Global Studies Programme at the University of Freiburg, Susanne Buckley-Zistel, Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies and Executive Director of the Center for Conflict Studies at the Philipps University Marburg and Siddharth Tripathi, a Senior Research Fellow at University of Erfurt where he leads the project on Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict.

The network „Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict“ is a collaborative project of the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute (Freiburg), the Center for Conflict Studies at the Philipps University Marburg, the University of Bayreuth, and the University of Erfurt. It is an interdisciplinary research initiative funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
