The EU’s engagement in Sudan: Perceptions and recommendations from civil society
The briefing paper examines how the European Union is currently engaging in Sudan, based on insights from civil society and EU stakeholders, highlighting how ongoing conflict has fragmented civic space and constrained civil society actors. It identifies both strengths and gaps in the EU’s humanitarian and diplomatic role, and calls for a more integrated approach that better connects humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts.
