Twenty-five Years of Men, Boys and Masculinities in the WPS Agenda
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) paper argues that the frequent conflation of gender with women in the Women, Peace and Security Agenda overlooks the important roles and experiences of men, boys and LGBTQ+ people in shaping insecurity, social cohesion and armed conflict. It calls for a more meaningful integration of men and masculinities across all four pillars of the WPS agenda, moving beyond token inclusion to better address today’s complex and escalating conflicts.
