Spotlight on … Environmental Peacebuilding
“Environmental Peacebuilding” (EnvPB) is an emerging field dedicated to considering environmental challenges—such as water scarcity, pollution, and climate change—from drivers of disputes into opportunities for conflict transformation, and re-thinking human-nature relations. The trainers will tell you more about the training content, which is structured around four pillars: conceptual understanding, practical tool application, learning from global case, and addressing systemic issues like the decolonial perspective, structural racism, socio-environmental conflicts, and extractive economies.
The course utilizes highly interactive methodologies to ensure participants’ ideas and practical experiences are fully integrated. The approach aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and on the ground practice and to foster listening, exchange, and appreciation of intercultural backgrounds.
This concept is part of the Practitioner Training on “Environmental Peacebuilding” – in case you want to know more about this in a broader context.
